Abstract


This research aims to determine the effect of audio-visual learning media on students' cognitive abilities in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education subjects, Pancasila Ideology material at SMA Negeri 1 Pulau Banyak. This research uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods. The sample in this study consisted of 28 experimental class students. The data collection technique was carried out by administering a pre-test and post-test. Data analysis consisted of calculating the average value, normality test, homogeneity test and Mann Whitney test. Based on the description of the research results and discussion, it can be seen that the use of learning media influences student learning outcomes in PPKn learning for SMA Negeri 1 Pulau Banyak students. This is indicated by the value of the Mann Whitney hypothesis test, namely that a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 is obtained. This means that the results show the influence of audio-visual learning media on students' cognitive abilities in the Pancasila Ideology material.
