Pemetaan Fishing Ground Udang Pisang (penaeus spp.) di Desa Suak Semaseh Kecamatan Samatiga Kabupaten Aceh Barat

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the location of the fishing ground of banana shrimp in the village of Suak Seumaseh, West Aceh Regency. Banana Shrimp (Penaue ssp.) As an endemic commodity in Aceh which is morphologically very similar to Windu Shrimp (Penaeus monodon) but until now this shrimp is only obtained from natural catches. The fishermen who do this shrimp catch catch shrimp in the fishing area which is only based on the guess and experience of the fishermen so that the catch varies greatly and the operational costs can be high The method used is a fishing ground mapping survey using GPS. The mapping results show the banana shrimp fishing ground is not too far from fishing base, which is around 1 - 5km with a depth of 5-12 fathoms (7.5 - 18 m). The distance to the fishing ground ranges from 10-30 minutes depending on weather conditions and waters.
