Abstract

Objective To determine the effectiveness of using herbal toothpaste with kepok banana peel extract (Musa Acuminate Balbisiana C.) with a mixture of lime extract (citrus aurantiifolia) as teeth whitener. Tooth color is one of the important aesthetic factors for a person. Tooth discoloration has a significant psychological impact, such as lack of confidence, being lazy to talk and lazy to smile. Bleaching is a process to reduce tooth color through chemical agents to oxidize organic pigmentation. The method used is qualitative. This study uses 2 test groups, namely: group 1 Applying kepok banana extract (Musa Acuminate Balbisiana C) and a mixture of lime extract (Citrus aurantifolia) on the teeth once a day. While group 2 with smearing once 2 times. The results of qualitative observations using the vitaPAN classical tool showed that the kepok banana peel extract toothpaste with a mixture of lime was able to change the color of the teeth by numbering from B4-B1. Conclusion Herbal toothpaste with kepok banana peel extract (Musa acuminate balbisiana c) with a mixture of lime extract (Citrus aurantifolia) is effective in whitening teeth with a 10% formula concentration, applied twice a day.
