Abstract

Abstract: Liquid soap is one of the cleaning products that can be produced with a simple process
so that it has the great potential to be developed by the home industry. This community service
activity aims to provide the village community with knowledge and skills of making soap by a simple
way through a training using commercial available raw materials. Community service activities
were conducted in Seuk Ceukok Village, Simpang Tiga Sub-District, Pidie Regency. The targets are
mothers and young women, the majority of whom do not work and only spend their time taking care
of the household. The methods of implementing the activities include: providing brochures and
reading material related to the soap making process; provide the main and supporting materials
for soap making; provide tools of soap-making process; introduce good soap packaging techniques
with a proper label system and provide packaging equipment information; provide theoretical
knowledge of marketing techniques suitable for the home industry. The results of this community
service show that the village community already has knowledge and skills in the soap making
process and they can make their own liquid soap. They also already know how to properly package
products and have knowledge in terms of marketing products to the surrounding environment.
