Kekuatan Tekan Dan Lentur Mortar Berbasis Serat Kelapa Dan Serbuk Limbah Kaca
Abstract
Mortar as a concrete mixture for building construction. Glass waste has high levels of silica which is simply thrown away without being reused, so it can be used as a partial substitute for fine sand. On the other hand, coconut fiber was used in this research because of its high strength when put into mortar. The aim of this research is to find out the mechanical properties of mortar in the form of mortar compressive strength, percentage of effective composition of coconut fiber and glass waste. This research used 0%, 1%, and 2% coconut fiber and 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% glass powder. The compressive test object measures 5 x 5 x 5 cm. The test objects that experienced an increase in compressive strength were test objects that used coconut fiber by 1% and glass waste by 10% and 15%. The increase in mortar compressive strength was 2.9% to 3.5% with an increase in compressive strength of 30.44 MPa to 31.48 MPa. Thus, coconut fiber and glass waste have the potential to increase the compressive strength of mortar. The percentage of effective composition of coconut fiber and glass waste that can increase compressive strength is coconut fiber 1% of the weight of sand and glass powder 15% of the weight of sand.
