ESTIMASI TINGGI BADAN BERDASARKAN PANJANG LENGAN ATAS UNTUK IDENTIFIKASI FORENSIK PADA SUKU ACEH

Abstract

Abstract: In criminal cases related to the body, health and human life required the role of forensic medicine. This branch of medical science can make the evidence tell the story of what has happened, even for the evidence of a human corpse. Identification is one of the fields in forensic medicine that is needed to reveal the identity of a corpse, one of which is to estimate the height of the corpse. The purpose of this research is analyzing the correlation between the length of upper arm with height in Acehnese student of Medical Faculty at Abulyatama University and to get height estimation formula based on the length of upper arm in Acehnese. The research methodology is the observational analytic with the cross sectional approach method. The sampling technique using stratified random sampling method with a sample size of 74 people. The Pearson test result showed that value p = 0,000 and value r = 0,789 for the man’s upper arm and r = 0,670 for the woman’s upper arm, which indicated a strong correlation between the length of upper arm with height in Acehnese. The conclusion from this research is that there is strong correlation between the length of upper arm with height in Acehnese, with height estimation formula TB = 116,873 + 1,507 (PLA) ± 6,638 for the man’s upper arm and TB = 106,561 + 1,616 (PLA) ± 9,186 for the woman’s upper arm
