FACTORS AFFECTING SMOKING BEHAVIOR IN ADOLESCENTS IN SMP NEGERI 18 BANDA ACEH

Abstract

Abstract: To determine the range, influence of parents, friends, advertisements, and knowledge of smoking behavior on SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh. This research used cross sectional design like questinnaires and 100 responden (50 famale and 50 male of the students in SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh). The analyse of the data analyzed with universal and bivariate analysis using Chi-square. Studis show that the male response has a connection between the ability to get cigarettes (p=0,009),the influence of friends (p=0,000) the influence of advertising (p=0,008), and there is no parent-influenced relationship (0,190) and knowledge (0,185) to smoking behaviour. For the female respondents, the result is that there is an association between friend’s influence (p=0,000) and that of an advertisement (p=0,000), and there is no possible connection to cigarettes (p=0,087),parental influence (p=0,132) and knowledge (0,229) toward smoking behaviour.
