HUBUNGAN ANTARA STRES DENGAN KEJADIAN INSOMNIA PADA MAHASISWA YANG MENJALANI SISTEM KURIKULUM BERBASIS KOMPETENSI (KBK)

Abstract

Abstract:Stress is a condition caused by the interaction between individuals and theenvironment, which causes the perception of distance between the demands came from the situation derived from someone biological, psychological, and social systems. Meanwhile, insomnia is a common sleep disorder with the inability to sleep well at night and often leads to the disruption of activities during the day. This study aims to find out the correlation between stresses and insomnia on program-Astudents who are undergoing competency-based curriculum in study program of nursing, Abulyatama University. The research design is descriptive correlative with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used in this research is total sampling,and the sample is 43 university students undergoing a competency-based curriculum in the study program of nursing, Abulyatama University. The research instrument is a questionnaire. The data collection was conducted in March 2018. Data analysis is univariate and bivariate analysis. The result from the research shows that there is a relation between physical stress with insomnia. The statistical analysis (Chi-square analysis) with p-value=0.002 (p-value<0.05) shows that there is a relation between social stress with insomnia. The statistical analysis (Chi-square analysis) with p-value=0.001 shows that there is a relation between psychological stress with insomnia. After the statistical analysis, the obtained value of p-value=0.001 (p-value<0.05). From the research, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between stress and insomnia on program-A students undergoing competency-based curriculum in the study program of nursing, Abulyatama University. The students are recommended to avoid the stressor factor that leads to insomnia and has a negative impact on the academic achievement of the students who are undergoing the program-Aof the competency-basedcurriculum in study program of nursing, Abulyatama University
