HUBUNGAN DAN SIKAP REMAJA DENGAN KEKERASAN VERBAL DI GAMPONG PANTERIEK KECAMATAN LUENG BATA KOTA BANDA ACEH

Abstract

Abstract: Verbal Abuse is an action of snapping, cursing, scolding, and scaring. The abuseexperiencedon teenagers
can be due to their condition and behavior. Nowadays, the verbal abusestands as a phenomenon in adolescent, data
from Integrated Care Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A) shows that there are 192 cases
of verbal abuse on the teenagers in Banda Aceh from 2014 to 2017. The violence occurredbecause of the factors of
knowledge, experience, and attitude. This research aims to find out the correlation between adolescents’ knowledge
and attitude on verbal abuse in GampongPanteriekLueng Bata Sub-District of Banda Aceh. The design used isa
descriptive correlative method with cross-sectional study approach with 68 respondents as the population and 86
respondentsas the sample, chosen by using Proportional random sampling which is a sampling that considering the
elements and categories in research population. The instrument used is questionnaire while statistical analysis used is
continuity correction test. This research is conducted on February 1-2, 2018. The result of the research shows that,
knowledge (53,3) attitude (52,3), verbal abuse (51,2). There are correlations between teenagers’ knowledge on verbal
abuse with a p-value of 0.010, teenagers’ attitude on verbal knowledge with a p-value of 0.018. The conclusion from
this research is that there is a correlation between teenagers’ knowledge on verbal abuse, and there is acorrelation
between teenagers’ attitudes and verbal abuse. It is suggested to the adolescents to continue improving their knowledge
about verbal abuse and change theirdemeanor related to the verbal abuse, also to avoidthemselves from thebad
environment.
