HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN IBU DENGAN PEMBERIAN AIR SUSU IBU (ASI) EKSLUSIF TERHADAP TUMBUH KEMBANG BALITA DI BLUD RUMAH SAKIT IBU DAN ANAK (RSIA) BANDA ACEH
Abstract
Abstract: Basic health research data shows that infants given exclusively breastfed nationally are 54.3%. This data
is still far from the government's achievement target of 80%. The low level of exclusive breastfeeding among
breastfeeding mothers is due to a lack of knowledge of mothers about exclusive breastfeeding, healthcare skills on
how to provide breastfeeding information and advice and the number of mothers who have jobs outside the home.
This study to know whether there is a correlation between mother's knowledge level with exclusive breastfeeding to
toddler growth at BLUD Child and Maternal Hospital (RSIA) Banda Aceh 2018. Research method is used analytic
with cross sectional study design. Sampling using accidental sampling technique with questionnaires that have been
designed. The result is mother's knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding in BLUD Child and Maternal Hospital (RSIA)
Banda Aceh is mostly in the good category that is 55 respondents (91, 7%), growth of toddler are in good category
that is 26 respondents (40.0%). Out of 43 respondents with good knowledge, there are 20 toddler (43,3%). This
study can be concluded there is no correlation between mother's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and
toddler growth in BLUD Child and Maternal Hospital (RSIA) Banda Aceh 2018, where it is found that p-value
0,554> 0.05. It is expected that mothers are more active in accessing information about exclusive breastfeeding for
babies especially on infants and toddlers development.
