HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN TINGKAT DEPRESI PADA NARAPIDANA DI CABANG RUTAN BIREUEN TAHUN 2019

Abstract

Abstract: Prisoners living in detention centers have basically lost the freedom of interacting with outside
communities. Problems that become prisoners' stressors in detention are homesickness for families, boredom in
detention centers, bored with activities, bored with food, problems with friends and confusion when thinking
about their future after leaving prison. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of family
support with the level of depression in prisoners. This type of research is descriptive correlative with cross
sectional approach. The population is all prisoners in the Bireuen Prison. The sampling technique in this
research is proportional random sampling with Slovin formula, as many as 75 respondents. The study was
conducted on Monday and Tuesday 12-13 March 2019. Data collection tools in the form of a questionnaire using
a question nnaire method. The results of the analysis of the data obtained there is a relationship between
informational support and depression level (0.001), there is a relationship between assessment support and
depression level (0.004), there is a relationship between instrumental support and depression level (0.031), there
is a relationship between emotional support and depression level (0.026) and there is a relationship between
family support and depression level (0,000). The conclusion from this study the higher the family support, the
lower the level of depression or vice versa. It is hoped that detainees and civil servants will facilitate the family in
providing family support to prisoners to reduce prisoners' problems while in detention.
