Motivasi Masyarakat dalam Mendapatkan Pelayanan Kesehatan Melalui Pengobatan Alternatif Penderita Stroke Di Kota Banda Aceh

Abstract

: The interesting phenomenon is that in the midst of the hegemony of the world of modern health with the increasing number of health care institutions and specialists, the existence of alternative medicine places is also growing rapidly. From field observations that have been conducted at one of the alternative therapy sites in Banda Aceh, shows that patients who get the most alternative therapy are stroke patients. This phenomenon attracts the attention of the authors to examine the description of the motivation of stroke patients in conducting alternative medicine.This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive pheno menology approach conducted by in-depth interviews with 5 informants who underwent alternative stroke treatment. Transcription was analyzed using the triangulation method. This study found that informants had the right knowledge about the causes of strokes obtained from medical personnel / doctors because before conducting alternative treatments, informants did treatment at health care facilities such as health centers, hospitals and specialist medical practices. The act of taking medication because of information from family, friends and neighbors. The factor that motivates informants to do alternative medicine is because the cost of medical treatment is free, therapists are friendly, believe in pengbatan and support from the family. The method of treatment carried out together is one way that can increase a patient's motivation to achieve healing. To the Aceh Provincial Health Office, especially to the heads of the Puskesmas and hospitals in order to improve the quality of health services, especially to improve staff friendliness and provide counseling, physiotherapy and increase friendliness when serving patients
