Tinjauan Tingkat Kemandirian Lansia Dalam Activities Daily Living (Adl) di Gampong Lambhuk Kecamatan Ulee Kareng Kota Banda Aceh

Abstract


Independence is very important in fillfuling the basic needs of the elderly. It can be judged by the ability of the elderly in performing their daily activities or often called Activity of Daily Living (ADL) that is bathing, dressing, toileting, and eating. In accordance with the preliminary study, the elderly who live alone encourages him or herself to move independently of others, while the elderly living with the family. The elderly activities are assisted by families who make the elderly less active in activities or movements. This study aims to find out the level of independence of elderly in Activity of Daily Living (ADL) activities in Gampong Lambhuk Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh. This research used descriptive research type with cross sectional approach. The population was all elderly in Gampong Lambhuk Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh. The sampling used the saturated sampling method as much as 70 respondents. Measurement of research variables used questioners with univariate analysis. The result of the research showed that some level of independency of elderly in Activity of Daily Living (ADL) activity in Gampong Lambhuk Ulee Kareng Banda Aceh cit is in self-supporting category as much as 50,0%. It is expected to optimize family support for the elderly to remain active and independent in performing routine activities to maintain the health of the elderly both physically and psychosocial.
