Hubungan Perilaku Hidup Sehat Dengan Kualitas Hidup Lansia Di UPTD Rumoh Seujahtera Geunaseh Sayang Ulee Kareng Banda Aceh

Abstract

Aging is a normal process of getting older that will be experienced by everyone who lives a long life. Several problems that may occur when someone is getting older are decreased ability of the nimmunity system and degenerative diseases. Undertaking health behavior is one of the ways to increase the life quality and to improve the well-being of elderly people. Based on the observation done by the researcher in the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Rumoh Sejahtera Geunaseh Sayang in Ulee Kareng of Banda Aceh, knowledge, attitude, and practice related to mantaining health that the elderly people have were still not sufficient. They had no idea of undertaking health behavior that results in their life quality. This research aims to find out the correlation between health behavior and elderly quality of life at Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Rumoh Sejahtera Geunaseh Sayang in Ulee Kareng of Banda Aceh in 2017. This descriptive-correlational research was conducted by distributing questionnaire arranged by the researchers and questionnaire (WHOQOL)-BREF to forty respondents from January 6 until January 9, 2017. Chi-square test was used in the process of data analysis. The result indicated that the elderly life quality was correlated to their knowledge (p=0.009), attitude (p=0.014), and practice (p=0.027) related to health behavior. It can be concluded that generally, health behavior and elderly life quality at Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Rumoh Sejahtera Geunaseh Sayang in Ulee Kareng of Banda Aceh in 2017 are in a positive correlation (p=0.004).
